CHAMELEONS !?!?

Image
They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world.  Sanctify them by Your truth.  Your word is truth.   John 17: 16-17 (NKJV) Photo by David Clode on Unsplas h Chameleons are lizards with the ability to change or adapt themselves to blend in with whatever their surroundings might be (camouflage).  However, if one is professing to be a Believer and is easily influenced by the beliefs/opinions of whomever they are around at any given time, that is a spiritual concern.  Merriam-Webster defines someone with a chameleon personality as having"a keen sense of observation and a strong desire for social acceptance...however, this adaptability often comes at the cost of expressing their authentic selves." Although we live in this world, we are not of this world because our citizenship is in heaven. (Philippians 3:20) .  We are just passing through. While we are here, we are to be His ambassadors, speaking His truth at all costs.  In the above verses, Jesus prayed for the

A God Whisper

Photo by Thought Catalog on UnSplash When I am able to go back "home" for a visit, I always try to reconnect with someone from when I was growing up or while in college.  One of my former college mates  and I were getting "caught up" when he started sharing about his experiencing what he called, "God whispers".   I found that to                                                                be an intriguing way to look at it.     It reminds me of how God spoke to the Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 19.      Elijah challenged the people of Israel to "get off the fence" and decide whom they were going to follow, God or Baal ( 1 Kings 18:21) . They stood mute.    * Believing that he was the last prophet of God (which he was not) and knowing that Baal had 450 prophets,  he did something reminicent of the old Westerns that many of us watched on television.  Elijah issued a challenge (1 Kings 18) to both Baal's prophets and the children of Isra

Elohim, The God of Creation

Image
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.                                                                                                   Genesis 1:1 , NKJV God has many "names"or "titles"that reflect His character and benefits. Today, I am focusing on Elohim, the God of Creation.  I was blessed to celebrate another birthday a couple of days ago, and my gift was to travel to another state with loved ones where the eclipse could be seen in its totality.  I saw the one locally in 2017, but that partial one paled by comparison to this one.    Photo by Mohamed Nohassi on Unsplash To say that it was awesome is such an understatement.  Visitors traveled from as far west as California, and there were some who were French speaking from who knows where.  I am seldom at a loss for words, however, this was an exception.  Seeing God's creation on full display as it went though the various phases was awe inspiring and caused me to tear up.  The change i

The Resurrection a hoax!?!!

to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.  Acts 1:3 (NKJV)   Resurrection Sunday was celebrated this past Sunday by Christians everywhere. This celebration had nothing to do with bunnies, chicks, eggs, and new clothes. Photo by Alan Bowman on Unsplash    It was about Jesus' triumph over sin and death. It was about restoring man's relationship with the Father through His death.  He declared, "It is finished!'  referring to the  debt of sin being  stamped "paid in full" upon His death.   For the next 40 days (after His resurrection), He appeared several times to the disciples to show them that He was indeed alive   (John 20:19-20) ,  and to continue to teach and prepare them before His return to His seat beside the Father. There were many things that He tried to teach the disciples prior to His crucifixion that they
