TRAIN UP A CHILD.

Image
Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.            Proverbs 22:6 (NKJV) If you grew up in COGIC, the above scripture will certainly be familiar to you. 🌞 🌻                                                   ThisπŸ‘‡ is from an article I cut out of the newspaper years ago and saved because in my opinion, it contains a lot of wisdom.  It was written by Sam Levenson who was writer, teacher, host and journalist. You may or may not agree with some or all of it, but it reminds me of the way in which I was reared.  Perhaps you were too.  Enjoy. LEVENSON'S TEN COMMANDMENTS 1.   Thou shalt guard thy children in the home and on the street. 2.   Thou shalt make thy home a sanctuary of love and devotion. 3.   Thou shalt honor the teachers of thy children and teach th...

DO YOU HAVE "PERFECT PEACE" IN YOUR LIFE?

Image
You will keep him in perfect peace Whose mind is stayed on you, Because he trust in you.   Trust in Lord forever, for in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.          Isaiah 26:3,4.    NKJV      (Emphasis Added)                                                                         According to GotQuestions.com, " Peace is something everyone wants, yet few seem to find.  What is peace ?  It can be defined as "tranquility, harmony, or security."  Depending on the situation, it could mean "prosperity" or "well-being".  This is not the kind of peace of which I speak.  This  fragile, unstable  peace fluctuates and is dependent upon external situations, circumstances, and sometimes other people. I heard a teena...

"GOOD" FRIDAY: A Love Story?

Image
Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.   J ohn 15:13 We usually think of a man and woman when we think about a typical love story.  I contend that the fact that Jesus endured such horrific things, died and rose again, makes it the greatest love story ever .    He Who was/is "The Truth"  (John 14:6) , was lied upon, and abandoned by those  closest to Him (Matthew 26:56) after pouring into them.    Have you ever wondered about was "good" about Good Friday?   I have.  When I think about how He was brutally beaten, slapped, spat upon, stripped  humiliated, and mocked, I could see nothing "good" about any of that.  So, how is this a love story? Love is the reason He came.  What He experienced and suffered was motivated by pure , divine love for each of us.  It was necessary for Him to suffer these things in fulfillment of the scripture. It was necessary that He suffer, die, and ...

MISSION ACCOMPISHED!

Image
Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross despising the shame, has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.                                                    Hebrews 12:2. (NKJV) I don't believe that we think about the fact that Jesus actually sacrificed a lot even  before  being nailed to the cross.   He suffered being lied on, betrayed, humilated, and tortured.   He willingly left the comfort of heaven seated beside the Father to become the bridge between mankind and the Father, a relationship which was destroyed by the choices of  Adam & Eve in the Garden.  T...
