WHY DO WE HAVE BLACK HISTORY MONTH?!!

If you believe Genesis 2 that Adam and Eve were the first parents, then it follows that all of humanit y came from them.                                                                                                  Photo by Shutterstock February is set aside as Black History Month in United States and Canada.  According to Wikipedia, it is also observed in Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom.  In Europe, it is observed in October.   It's a time to acknowledge & highlight the many contributions and achievements of Black people (also called * African diaspora) to the evolution/building of this country (one of the richest in the world), as well as other countries.  It's also a time to share our culture.   Dr. Carter G. Woodson, an educator and historian, is considered the Father of Black History.  Originally, the observance lasted only a week, but was changed to the entire month of February because both Frederick Douglas and Abraham Lincoln's birthdays

Do you know who benefited the most & were the

FRUIT CHECK!!!

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness,  goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  Against such there is no law.                                           Galations 5:22, 23. NKJV                     Photo by Martin de Arriba on Unsplash I attended a large university which at that time had a total of 30,000 students on the main campus and a couple of satellite campuses.  One evening I received a "random" call from a student who begged me to not hang up.  He was in a panic as he breathlessly shared that everybody he called just to have a conversation had hung up on him.  No one seemed to want to befriend him since his arrival to campus, so he felt invisible and desperate for a reason to want to live.   He eventually calmed down.  Before the conversation ended,  he thanked me for taking the time with him, and told me that he had already decided prior to calling me that if I had hung up on him, he was going to the roof of his dorm t

My love of music is no secret, but over the years, I have come to question whether some of the things we have been taught and words of some of our songs are actually grounded in scripture.                                                                                    Photo by Kalen Emsley on Unsplash I was in my bed writhing in pain.  In my head, I kept hearing a portion of a song that I often heard in church while growing up.     The words are 🎶"Lord, don't move my mountain, but give me the strength to climb,  And Lord
