Are You Prepared for Your Next Season?

For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven:  A time to be born, And a time to die; A time to plant , And a time to pluck up what has been planted; * Ecclesiastes 3:1, 2 (NKJV) A couple of weeks ago, we talked about how seasons change.  Last week, as I prepared the flower  beds for what I want to see in my yard next spring and summer, I was reminded of the importance of planning for the next season of my life.  Hoping, wishing, and daydreaming will not magically produces the flowers that I want to see nor manifest any changes in the  next season of my life.  There are certain things that I must do:  planning, preparation, and action.  If I "keep doing what I've always done, I will always get what I always got, and nothing will change! If I want my next to manifest the way God has birthed it in my spirit, then I have to make preparations mentally, spiritually, and consistently.  It isn't enough to just want, wish, hope, pray, and cross

BE YE RECONCILED!

Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. II Corinthians 5:18  (NKJV) The Hatfields and The MCoys are probably America’s most famous “family feud” which lasted about 30 years with at least 13 family members being killed before it was all said and done.  Some accounts say that it all started over who owned two razor back pigs, then escalated to include other “issues”.  Two pigs! Unfortunately, even within the body of Christ (families, ministries, cultures, & ethnicities) there are “feuds” that exist because of misunderstandings, unhealed hurts,  unresolved offenses, or differences of opinions which allow a root of bitterness to enter the mix.  In order to “dwell in unity, (Psalm 133:1), all parties have to be willing to check egos at the door, be open minded enough to really listen, and to prayerfully a

SEASONS!

To everything there is a season,  A time for every purpose under heaven.    Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NKJV) Each season in nature brings change. Depending on where you live in this world, you may already see signs of the seasons in nature changing.  The beautiful hues of gold, orange, yellow, etc (their natural colors) bursting forth before the leaves fall to the ground.. During the summer season, their God given true colors are overshadowed by the chlorophyll (the green pigment in plants) as it rises when the season changes from winter into spring/summer.  These changes are programmed into plant DNA and orchestrated by God. Genesis 1:26 lets us know that man was created in the image of God, but because of the sin of disobedience by Adam and Eve in the garden, we are all born into sin.  The “God nature” (image of God) is overshadowed by that sin nature in much the same way the chlorophyll overshadows the natural color of leaves. Before we come to Christ, each of us lived in a season of sin p

"Standing In The Gap"

Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Chr i st .                        Galatians 6:2  (ESV)                               I love plants.  One of the ones I have in my home is called a snake plant. Some also call it  “Mother-In-Law’s Tongue”.  Personally, I think that’s a horrible name, but I digress.)   It grows tall and straight and if you are transplanting one leaf from an established plant to start a new one as I did, that one leaf needs “support” to be able to grow straight and tall.  Until its roots grow deep enough in the soil to support itself, it needs “help” to stand. Supports can be purchased or one may use a straight stick to help it stand tall until it can straight on its own.                                                                            This applies to babes in the faith, however, today I am reminded of the w ay Aaron and Hur stood beside Moses holding his arms up until the sun went down. You may read the account in Exodus 17.  As his a
