First, CATCH The Fish!

Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."   ( Matthew 4:19 ).  Let all things be done decently and in order.    ( 1 Corinthians 14:40).                                    Unfortunately, in some places in Christiandom (thankfully not all), there are man-ordained requirements or expectations that are put on how people should  look  and  be  in order to come to the Lord (literally and spiritually).   Some expect that a person should "clean themselves up" before coming to the Lord/altar.   They are referring to being "appropraitely dressed" (outward appearance) or to stop sinful behavior  first  before coming to the altar. This is not Biblical.                                                        And the Spirit and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.   Revelations 22:17 ( NKJV ) * But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not

NEW YEAR, NEW __ ? __

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.                         Ecclesiastes 3:1   (NKJV)     Every season brings changes.   There are any number of ways to fill in that blank space.  The word you choose may reveal some things about your outlook and perspective.  Two people can look at the same glass of liquid with equal amounts of liquid and space/air.  Is it half full or half empty?                                         Photo by Joseph Greve in Unsplash The person who sees it as half full is believed to have a more optimistic perspective seeing the empty "space" as representitive of added opportunity and potential.  The one who sees it half empty is seen as being more pessimistic, focussing more on what IS NOT there, while ignoring what IS . There are so many words that could be chosen to fill that blank space.  What was yours?  What does it say about whether you see a new year unfolding with great expectations or "just another yea

INTERCESSION IS A GIFT!

Image
Merriam-Webster, defines intercession as "prayer, petition, or entreaty in favor of another". I also tell you this:  If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.  For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them." Matthew 18:19-20 (NLT)                                                                               I am convinced that Damar Hamlin would agree that intercession is a gift.  When he was seriously hurt on the football field recently,  he could not pray for or do anything for himself.  Immediately,  people all over the country (including me) interceded in prayer for his total recovery.  Doctors say that they are not willing to call his recovery a "miracle",  however, those of us of faith know that it absolutely was!  It could easily have had a tragic end. In a short time, he has gone from being in ICU in Cincinnati to being moved to his hometown, expecting to go h

EMPATHY & PATIENCE, PLEASE.

We have just come out of the holiday season where for most, it was a time of jubilation 🥳 & celebrating the birth 🚼 of Christ ✝ with other believers & family.  Please be sensitive to those for whom  it was and still is a time mixed with sadness 🙁 because of missing a loved 💔 one who has transitioned from this life.   It is sometimes a struggle to be upbeat 😁 in the midst of someone else's joy because it is a reminder of the loved one they are 😭 missing .   Now that we  have entered a brand new year,  please be patient with those who are still struggling, especially if they do not have a positive, loving support system.  Some may feel as if they are having to leave behind that loved one in the previous year as they get to go into a new year without them.    Grief can be like a roller 🎢 coaster ride with it's ebbs and flows that refuse to be ignored.  Therefore encourage one another and build one another
