LORD, HEAL OUR LAND



I think that most of us would agree that these are indeed “perilous times” (2 Timothy 3:1).   Many people are praying II Chronicles 7:14.  Let’s break down that entire scripture into bite sized pieces to see if we get a little more revelation.  I am going a little “old school” with KJV.


“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”  (2 Chronicles 7:14) KJV


(I should warn you that this “process” starts with the person you see looking back at you in the mirror.)


  • “If my people, which are called by my name.  If you consider yourself Christian, a Believer, a Saint, or “Saved”  (pick one!)..….that means You!

  • Shall humble themselves,  - ‘not proud or arrogant; 

  • and pray, -  to make a request humbly; to address God with adoration, confession, supplication, or thanksgiving.

  • and seek my face, - a conscious, intentional effort to get into the presence of God.

  • and turn from their wicked ways;  change of direction away from evil/conscious sinfulness to the Lord; an “about face” in a manner of speech..

  • THEN will I (GOD) hear from heaven, - AFTER success with the above  steps, God promises to then hear (give attention to) from heaven. 

  • And will forgive their sin, - I John 1:9 (ESV)  “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • and will heal their land. - restore, make whole, redeem.


Here’s a simple equation. 

 

HUMBLE (spirit, mind, will) + PRAY (with expectancy) + SEEK (the face & Will of God) + TURN (a conscious decision) = FORGIVENESS (of sin), HEALING & RESTORATION (of heart, mind, spirit, & emotions)

Always Remember & NEVER Forget!

Hummingbirds are mesmerizing and entertaining to me.  One of the many amazing things about them is their memory.  They migrate south for the winter, so as I am seeing signs of some leaves beginning to ever so slightly display their Fall colors, it reminds me that they will soon be heading South for the winter.
