WHAT'S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?!...Part 1

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.  1 John 4:7, ESV

"What's Love Got to do With It" is the title of a song made popular by Tina Turner, however, she was singing about Eros (romatic) love between a man and a woman.  The scripture above refers to Agape love which can be described as unconditonal, sacrificial, selfless                                                             or brotherly love. 

1 John 4:16b teaches us that "God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him".  Since love is God and from God,  then love should be an attribute/characteristic/virtue/fruit demonstrated daily in the life of anyone who is a Believer.  It is not a coincidence that the list of the fruit of the Spirit in Galations 5, starts with love.  Love is the foundation upon which all the other fruit are built.

When we allow the Lord to love through us, He is glorifed.   It shows the world that we are His hands and feet in the earth, a reflection His heart, and that we truly belong to Him.  By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.  John 13:35.

Let's go out & show the world WHOSE we are!

PASSION WEEK/HOLY WEEK

No one can take my life from me.  I sacrifice it voluntarily.  For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again.  For this is what my Father has commanded.  John 10:17-18 (NLT)    This season is one of the most consequential & unforgettable periods of time in Christiandom.  A painful time which ends triumphantly! Passion Week or Holy Week began on Palm Sunday and continues to Resurrection Sunday/Easter.   Jesus, motivated by His love for us and desire to redeem us, suffered unbelievable torture and humiliation to pay our sin debt.   He who was without sin. * It is called Passion Week because Jesus was motivated by His passionate love for us and desire to provide a path back to a restored relationship with the Father through Him.  The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again.
