*Tomorrow Is Not Promised!

Look here, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year.  We will do business there and make a profit.  James 4:13, NLT

If you are of a certain age, you can readily remember exactly where you were when you heard the news of the 911 Terrorist Attacks on this country.

This week, we paused to commemorate & reflect on that horrible day, and to remember those whose lives were needlessly ended;  Also remembering the many first responders who lost their lives, the ones who lived but had (and some still have) all kinds of health and emotional issues, as well as, their families.  I'm sure that not one of them got up that day 22 years ago planning to die.

How do you know what your life is like *tomorrow?  Your life is like the morning fog... Verse 14a

A few years ago, I had the opportunity to visit the 911 Memorial in lower Manhattan.  As I stood at the Reflecting Pool,
I was flooded by an avalance of emotions.  I had no words.  The reality & sadness that every one of the names was someone's mother, father, son, daughter,  spouse or "significant other" whose absence left a gaping hole in their lives.

What you ought to say is, "If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.  Verse 14

This was one of the few times in our history when we were just people...human beings. The color of ones skin, nationality, gender,
social status, political affiliation, denomination, financial portfolio, etc made no difference.  How unfortunate that it took something as horrendous as 911 to put all that aside to be human beings with compassion, coming together to help one another.  Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.
John 13:35.  May we remember to pray for those who are still being impacted by the events on that horrible day because some still suffer!  Remember that *tomorrow is not promised to any of us.
