Valentine's Day

In its infancy, Valentine's Day 💖was celebrated in simplicity by sending letters, notes & homemade paper valentines. By now,  those who are convestionaires, greeting card manufacturers, florists, jewelers, and restaurant owners have smiles on their faces after yesterday's sales receipts thanks to Valentine's Day Celebrations.                                                                                                    The person for whom the day is named, Valentinus, unfortunately met a tragic end because he acted on his Christian belief that a man and woman had the right to be married within the Christin church. He secretly married them in defiance of an edict issued by the Emperor who believed in polygamy which cost him his life.  As a result, he was tortured and murdered. If you do not have a romantic relationship to celebrate, all is not lost. The most important love relationship a Believer has is the one betwe

GOD, COPILOT!?

Perhaps (depending on your age) you may remember when "God, CoPilot" was a really popular bumper sticker.  I always thought that it should be the other way around with God being the pilot.  Afterall, why wouldn't we want God to be in control, right?  I decided to actually research both of their roles to see if I was correct.      Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.    Proverbs 3:5 - 6. ( NKJV)                                                         It turns out that pilots and copilots are required to have same abilites and training, however, the pilot has more authority.  Copilots have to be able to take over the operation of the plane in the event that the pilot for some reason became incapacitated or was unavailable to perform his duties.  God gives each of us the freedom (free will) to chart (pi

"BUT I'M TOO OLD!!! " ARE YOU REALLY?

Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said to himself, “Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? Shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a child?”  Genesis17:17   ( ESV )   This was about 14 years after the birth of Abraham's first child, Ishmael, with Hagar.                                   John the Baptist was born to elderly parents, Zachariah & Elizabeth.    But they had no child, because   Elizabeth was barren, and  both were advanced in years .   Luke 1:7                                                             Same God then.  Same God in 2023.                                                          It is true that both of the situations above involve having a child later than what is considered as being normal childbearing years.  However, the miraculous nature of God is not religated to reproduction. He can also help us realize unfulfilled dreams, assignments, opportunities, that we thought our ages excluded us from ever accomplishing.
