Is What YOU See All There Is To See?

                                        What do YOU see?

(Ambiguous Illusion)

Do you see an old woman with a large nose and protruding chin who seems to be looking down?   If so, you are correct!  However, if you see a young woman looking to her right with a choker (necklace) aound her neck, congratulations!  You are correct also!   How can both be correct  if we are all looking at the same picture?

What about this one?  Is it a picture of a pastel vase/pedestal or is it a  silhouette of two people almost nose to nose?  Perhaps its a picture a young woman looking at a mirrored silhouetted reflection of herself.  Again,  what you see depends on your perspective.

How can that be? Pictures like these are call Ambiguous Ilusions.   The Oxford Dictionary defines "ambiguous" as "(of language) open to more thn one interpretation..." It is because what you see depends on your perspective.   Perspective simply is one's point of view, focus, or the lens through which you see and draw conclusions.

Sometimes we interpret what we think or what we see as being the only valid perspective.  Seldom is that the case.  Perhaps we should not be quick to judge or misjudge people and things. Perhaps we should be open to the fact that there may be information/circumstances of which we are not aware which would alter what we think.  Perhaps we would do well to extend the grace to others that we would like if the roles were reversed.

Blessings.

Do not judge others, and you will not be judged.  For you will be treated as you treat others.  The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged.
