T'is The Season...

 T‘is the Season..



No one knows for certain the actual date that Christ was born because the Bible does not reveal that information, but many Biblical and historical scholars believe that it was between 6 and 4 BC, and it probably wasn't even in December. Some even believe that by the time the Wise Men were finally led to Him that Jesus was probably already a toddler. It may not be common knowledge to some of us but it is interesting to note that there are parts within the body of Christ who observe January 7th as Christmas. (That's another story).


In just 3 days, many across the world will be celebrating December 25th as the birth of our Savior. Many homes will be filled with family, laughter (hopefully, no arguments), and all kinds of tasty dishes, gifts under the tree, etc. Hopefully, in the midst of all that, our minds and hearts will pause to honor and savor HIM. May we be grateful for the ultimate gift of HIM! It sounds cliché, but "He really IS the reason for the season.


For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Isaiah 9:6 (NLT)

PASSION WEEK/HOLY WEEK

No one can take my life from me.  I sacrifice it voluntarily.  For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again.  For this is what my Father has commanded.  John 10:17-18 (NLT)    This season is one of the most consequential & unforgettable periods of time in Christiandom.  A painful time which ends triumphantly! Passion Week or Holy Week began on Palm Sunday and continues to Resurrection Sunday/Easter.   Jesus, motivated by His love for us and desire to redeem us, suffered unbelievable torture and humiliation to pay our sin debt.   He who was without sin. * It is called Passion Week because Jesus was motivated by His passionate love for us and desire to provide a path back to a restored relationship with the Father through Him.  The Father loves me because I sacrifice my life so I may take it back again.
