SOMEBODY IS WATCHING YOU!!👀

"..but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.                          1Timothy 4:12 (NKJV)

Some years ago, while I was in a business establishment, a man (whom I did not know) approached me (not in a threatening way) to ask 3 questions.  They were a confirmation of my last name, the name of the church I attended, and whether a particular person (whom he named) also attended the same church.  I answered his questions,  but after that unusual exchange, I had a question for him.  "Do I know you? "  Before turning and walking away, he said,  "No, but I know you!"  I have no idea as to why he was so cryptic.

The lesson in this scenario was and still is that we must be authentic in living out our faith, not just on Sunday or around certain people, but always.  Of course, we all make mistakes and don't always live 100% up to what Christ asks of those "who are called by His name" (2 Chronicles 7:14),  but when we fall short, we must own it, repent, and handle those things in a God-honoring way. 

Some may be watching you because they are looking for someone who can be a spiritual mentor to them to help them grow; a person whose walk they can emulate.  Still there will be those who watch closely hoping that they can catch you stumbling or in something they can use to accuse and undermine your walk and Chrisianity as a whole. 

May we exemplify Christ in all sincerity and authenticity because as the title of a song by Sly & the Family Stones says, "Somebody's Watching You!"  May we never be guilty of causing a brother or sister to stumble & fall (1 Corinthians 8:9/ 1 John 2:10), and may we not give occasion for the enemy to be able to accuse a member of the body of Christ.  People, especially unbelievers, are paying attention to our actions more intently than what we say with our mouths.
